The Envirada Aquamonix project group recently completed a flood disaster warning system in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. The Hidden Valley mine in PNG is at risk from natural disasters including earthquakes, and extreme weather events. Our project team worked closely with the client to design, supply, install, the local warning stations. Sirens provide warning for communities up to 25km downstream from the mine tailings storage facility. Located in remote villages, the sirens are solar powered and connect via VHF radio and satellite to provide monitoring & control, locally, or remotely from anywhere in the world.
